The CNR ITD - Istituto di Tecnologie Didattiche (Institute of Educational Technology) is an institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) that researches and develops innovative technologies for learning and training. Founded in 1985, the CNR ITD is based in Genoa and Palermo and is composed of a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to developing advanced technological solutions for teaching, training, knowledge dissemination and the promotion of scientific culture.

The ITD's research activities are oriented towards the design of learning environments based on advanced technologies, such as e-learning platforms, educational games, tools for the creation of educational content, mobile devices and virtual and augmented reality environments. In addition, the ITD is involved in evaluating the effectiveness of educational technologies in different educational contexts, from school education to university education and vocational and continuing education.
The ITD collaborates with various national and international institutions, universities, companies and governmental and non-governmental organisations to promote innovation and the development of advanced technological solutions for education and training.
